Hong Style Fried Rice (四哥炒饭) in Yishun
Hong Style Fried Rice (四哥炒饭) - this is one of my favourite fried rice haunts at Yishun. Located within a Kim San Leng (金山岭) coffeeshop, the positioning of the stall is simple - bring affordable, restaurant-quality fried rice to the heartlands.

If you are visiting Singapore and looking to try out high-quality, local fare that you may not have tried in your country, I will highly recommend trying!
Founders and chefs
Opened in 2021, Hong Style Fried Rice is founded and operated by ex-Din Tai Fung chefs. Having honed their skills and cooked for close to 10 years in a restaurant, these chefs bring a refined touch to the classic fried rice dish. You can watch them as they cook your meal with impressive wok skills that result in well-balanced fried rice—tastes just right and neither too oily nor overcooked.

Quick note: Din Tai Fung is a world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant chain famous for its handcrafted xiao long bao (soup dumplings) — delicate steamed buns filled with minced pork and rich broth. Founded in Taipei in 1958, it specializes in Taiwanese and Shanghainese cuisine, known for precision, consistency, and clean flavors. Beyond xiao long bao, Din Tai Fung is celebrated for dishes like fried rice with pork chop or shrimp, spicy wontons, steamed chicken soup, braised beef noodles, and dumpling varieties.
The fried rice menu
At Hong Style Fried Rice, you will find a diverse range of fried rice, noodles, and side dishes, primarily influenced by Taiwanese and Singaporean comfort food. The fried rice options are particularly noteworthy, with several toppings available to customize your dish. Here’s a closer look:
