The Zen Rock of Yishun
As a long-time resident of Yishun (our family moved here in the 1980s), I have often jogged up to the Yishun Neighbourhood Park. The Yishun Neigbourhood Park is essentially a knoll or a small hill with a height of around 25-30 metres (a casual estimate based on the position of the peak relative to a nearby HDB flat).
In fact, it is possibly the highest natural peak in the whole of Yishun that allows you to overlook a good portion of Nee Soon East, Canberra and the nearby industrial estate.
To me, the highlight of this hill is a large rock located near its highest point. The playgrounds and amenities on the hill have come, gone and upgraded over time, but this rock has essentially stood the test of time and fortunately preserved by the powers that be who manage the hill (NParks?).

This rock has at least been around long before the start of the Yishun New Town project in 1983-1984 (i bear witness ๐๐). To be clear, I have not heard of any official name that confers this special rock a historic importance. So I have taken the liberty to call it the Zen Rock of Yishun.

The reason is that it is a large rock (sits around 3 persons back-to-back) and really provides a good base for you to sit on and meditate. The rock was my rest point during my jogs and a place where I ponder deep thoughts and clear my mind. Try it - it is really psycho-therapeutic to just sit there and immerse in the present.
So to visitors of Yishun, I just want to let you know about this little-known secret rock that will one day find its fame.
To fellow residents, whenever you feel stressed up, do find and take a seat on this rock (preferably with the morning or evening sun), and I hope the Zen Rock of Yishun will really save your day ๐.
