Finally, the Yishun Park Hawker Centre re-opened on Oct 29, 2024 after 3 months of renovation.

Since its opening in 2017, the Yishun Park Hawker Centre has become one of the dining spots our family frequents. In fact, over the years, it has become a vibrant hub of sorts - nice food, community events and family activities. If you are a tourist, you can easily find a wide collection of Asian cuisines, spread across its 45 cooked food stalls.

The hawker center is managed by Timbre Group Asia and opens daily from 6am to 10pm. At full capacity, the hawker center is said to be able to sit around 750 diners.

Architecture

The building is designed by Context Architects, an architectural firm which has designed numerous public, civic, healthcare and educational buildings.

One of the unique features of the Yishun Park Hawker Centre architecture that I like is its courtyard light well -  a vertical roof opening that allows natural light (and rain) to penetrate deep into the interior of the hawker centre.

Facilities

Singapore's tray return rules kicked in on Sep 1, 2021, for hawker centres. Those who do not return their used trays and crockery will have their particulars taken down by enforcement officers. These are the Tray Return Stations located conveniently at both ends of the hawker centre, so do not forget :-).

As the Yishun Park Hawker Centre is a frequent hub for nearby residents, it makes sense for the hawker centre to be a recycling point as well. Prominently placed at the main entrance of the hawker center, this self-drop recycling booth from Life Line Clothing enables residents to drop their used soft toys, clothes, hats, caps, pillows, bags, belts, shoes and other household items while en route to breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Weekend Pasar

Every quarter in May, August, and November, the Yishun Park Hawker Centre organises a weekend bazaar or 'Pasar' that showcases an array of booths where sellers offer everything from snacks and crafts to plants and clothes. The Pasar is held every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Each booth comes with a table and two chairs, making it easy to showcase your goods and craft.

Get Active with Free Saturday Fitness

Every Saturday, you can also join in at the event plaza for the Free Fitness Park & Play sessions, with a variety of fun and engaging fitness classes, including Kids Zumba, Piloxing, and Zumba Fitness. Healthy dose of irony there - lose some weight during these fitness sessions and then regain them with the followup makan sessions at the hawker centre!

Park & Play: Fun for the Kids

You can also bring your kids along for Park & Play every Sunday from 10:30am to 3:30pm! There are exciting activities like face painting, bubble and water play, arts and crafts, and sensory play to stimulate their senses.

Free Lunch Shuttle Bus!

Getting to the Yishun Park Hawker Centre at noon is convenient with the free lunch shuttle bus service. Do check the official shuttle bus schedule on the pickup and dropoff points and ride timings. You can also take public buses 103 and 806 (from Yishun Interchange).
